What You'll See

Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge

As you paddle inland, you'll pass traditional Hawaiian taro fields and protected wetlands that provide habitat for endangered Hawaiian waterbirds including the nēnē (Hawaiian goose) and alae kea (Hawaiian coot).

Historic Hanalei Bridge

Cruise directly beneath the iconic one-lane green Hanalei Bridge, originally built in 1912. It's one of the most photographed landmarks on Kauaʻi and a favorite stop for photos from the water.

Tropical Rainforests

Further upriver, the banks narrow and become surrounded by lush rainforest, flowering trees, tropical plants, and hanging vines.
